In the previous part of our interview series with Rachael Lammey, Product manager at CrossRef, Rachael told us about the global outreach and uptake of CrossRef and its products. In this vignette, she covers an interesting topic – the use of technology in publishing. Rachael says that the speed at which online journals are replacing print journals has been phenomenal. Although the global academic publishing industry has made great strides to introduce efficiencies in workflows, there still are some hurdles to overcome, especially in terms of educating authors and publishers about the existing technological products, how to use them, and how they will prove to be beneficial for everybody involved in the process.
